The 64 articles were selected and published by Wang Guowei himself, including Wang Guowei's main poetic concept and evaluation of poets and poetry. Dr. Wang Shijie, then president of the Taiwan Academia Sinica, and Professor Liu Ruoyu, a Chinese poetry scholar with a good reputation in the United States, gave high praise.

Wang Guowei (1877—1927), a native of Haining, Zhejiang, was a famous scholar in the period of Chinese modern times. Wang Guowei accepted the influence of Western philosophy and aesthetic thoughts, and analyzed Chinese classical literature with Western philosophy, aesthetics and literary viewpoints. The "Human Words" is a representative work. "Human Words" was written in 1908~1909. It is the most prestigious literary criticism work in modern China. The whole book takes "artistic conception" as the core and regards it as the principle and criticism standard of word creation. In theory, it has reached a very high level and has far-reaching effects. Since the advent of "Human Words" in the early 20th century, there are only two existing translations. The authors are Taiwanese scholar Tu Jingyu and American scholar Li You'an, which represent different characteristics of translators who have different backgrounds in their native language. The reference will enable Chinese and foreign readers to grasp the essence of Wang Guowei's "Human Words" ideology, and the earlier translation of Taiwanese scholar Tu Jingyu.

王国维(1877—1927),浙江海宁人,是中国近、现代相交时期的一位著名学者。王国维接受了西方哲学和美学思想的影响,运用西方哲学、美学、文学观点剖析中国古典文学,《人间词话》是其代表性作品。《人间词话》作于1908~1909年,是中国近代最负盛名的文学批评著作,全书以“意境”为核心,将其视为词创作的原则和批评标准。在理论上达到了很高的水平,影响深远。
