Since New Practical Chinese Reader was published in 2002, it has been well received by teachers and learners of Chinese around the world. For users’ convenience, in this new edition, we have revised those we found improper, but have not revised the framework, the texts and the main language points of the textbook. In contrast to its first edition, the explanations of the text are designed next to each text to facilitate students.
