This book is the fifth volume of the "New Chinese Language and Culture Course" and is suitable for Chinese fifth grade students. There are many styles of texts in this volume, including ancient poems, modern poems, stories, diaries and other forms of texts. The content of the text is also more difficult than before, with a length of about 600 characters each. New forms such as crosstalk and tongue twisters appear in the reading texts. The sentence structure is also more complicated than in the previous volumes, and it also focuses on some commonly used conjunctions and antonyms. The book has 20 lessons, 273 new characters and 300 new words, and the course is 30 units (1.5 hours per unit). New Chinese Language and Culture Course is the second edition of this textbooks series. This is a set of Chinese textbooks specially written for overseas students. It is a joint effort of Teacher Wang Shuangshuang of California and domestic experts in China, based on years of overseas teaching practice. A full set of textbooks with 15 volumes has a character volume of 2500 different Chinese characters, ranging from learning literacy, pinyin, sentence patterns, and essays, to a preliminary and more systematic study of Chinese culture. In addition to the language teaching part, the textbook generally introduces the rich content of Chinese geography, history, philosophy, etc., highlighting the charm of Chinese culture.

新双双中文教材：中文课本：第五册（第二版）
本书是“新双双中文教材”的第五册，适于中文五年级学生。本册课文文体较多，有古诗、现代诗、故事、日记等形式。课文内容也较以前增加了难度，篇幅在600字左右。阅读课文出现相声和绕口令等新形式。句子结构也较前几册复杂，还侧重介绍了一些常用的连词和反义词。全书共20课，生字272个，生词299个，教程为30学时（每学时1.5小时）。第五册学习完毕，学生将累计学习汉字1030个，听说读写能力都达到一定的水平，可以逐渐地学习并接受各类文化科目的内容。

“新双双中文教材”是“双双中文教材”的第二版。这是一套专门为海外学生编写的中文教材，由美国加州王双双老师和中国国内专家共同努力，在海外多年教学实践的基础上编写而成。全套教材共15册，识字量2500个，包括了从识字、拼音、句型、短文的学习，到初步的较系统的对中国文化的学习。教材除语言教学的部分外，大体介绍了中国地理、历史、哲学等方面的丰富内容，突出了中国文化的魅力。教材知识面广，趣味性强，深入浅出，易教易学。
