This book is the fourth volume of the "New Chinese Language and Culture Course" and is suitable for fourth-grade Chinese students. This volume continues to introduce radicals and polyphonic characters of Chinese characters, and exercises are added to consolidate the learning of radicals and lay the foundation for memorizing more Chinese characters. This volume begins to introduce some basic Chinese characters into new characters, as well as quantifiers in Chinese. Grouping new characters can help students remember and understand Chinese characters. The use of quantifiers is one of the difficulties encountered in Chinese teaching. This volume introduces many commonly used quantifiers and allows students to learn and master these quantifiers in a certain context. The lesson texts have a length of about 500 Chinese characters and the content is light and lively. Each lesson is also equipped with a short story essay for students to read for themselves. There are 240 new Chinese characters and 254 new words in the book. After finishing the fourth book, students will learn a total of 758 Chinese characters.

New Chinese Language and Culture Course is the second edition of this textbooks series. This is a set of Chinese textbooks specially written for overseas students. It is a joint effort of Teacher Wang Shuangshuang of California and domestic experts in China, based on years of overseas teaching practice. A full set of textbooks with 15 volumes has a character volume of 2500 different Chinese characters, ranging from learning literacy, pinyin, sentence patterns, and essays, to a preliminary and more systematic study of Chinese culture. In addition to the language teaching part, the textbook generally introduces the rich content of Chinese geography, history, philosophy, etc., highlighting the charm of Chinese culture.
