This book is the 10th volume of "New Chinese Language and Culture Course", which is suitable for students who have mastered 1000 Chinese characters. The book has 11 lessons, and the recommended teaching time is 14 to 18 units (of 1.5 to 2 hours per unit).

The lesson texts are in simplified Chinese, English translations  of the lesson texts are also provided and vocabulary annotations include Hanyu Pinyin and English. With vocabulary lists of new characters and words in simplified and traditional Chinese at the end of the book.

New Chinese Language and Culture Course is the second edition of this textbooks series. This is a set of Chinese textbooks specially written for overseas students. It is a joint effort of Teacher Wang Shuangshuang of California and domestic experts in China, based on years of overseas teaching practice. A full set of textbooks with 15 volumes has a character volume of 2500 different Chinese characters, ranging from learning literacy, pinyin, sentence patterns, and essays, to a preliminary and more systematic study of Chinese culture. In addition to the language teaching part, the textbook generally introduces the rich content of Chinese geography, history, philosophy, etc., highlighting the charm of Chinese culture.

“新双双中文教材”是“双双中文教材”的第二版。这是一套专门为海外学生编写的中文教材，由美国加州王双双老师和中国专家共同努力，在海外多年教学实践的基础上编写而成。全套教材共15册，识字量2500个，包括了从识字、拼音、句型、短文的学习，到初步的较系统的对中国文化的学习。教材除语言教学的部分外，大体介绍了中国地理、历史、哲学等方面的丰富内容，突出了中国文化的魅力。教材知识面广，趣味性强，深入浅出，易教易学。

这本《中国古代科学技术》是“新双双中文教材”的第10册。本书适用于已学习、掌握1000个以上汉字的学生使用。全书共11课，教程为14～18个学时（每学时1.5～2小时）。
