The textbook series Meihao consists of 4 volumes. This is Volume 2. This is an all-Chinese language textbook using only simplified Chinese characters and Hanyu Pinyin.
China has a vast territory and population, and exhibits the characteristics of a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual and multi-dialectic country. The popularization of the national common spoken and written language is a necessary condition for enhancing inter-ethnic and inter-regional exchanges and promoting the development of economy and culture. Against this background, Beijing Language and Culture University Press planned and developed the nationwide language learning book Meihao especially for the people in the border areas.
The Meihao textbook series consists of 4 volumes: This is Volume 1. Volume 1 mainly teaches the terms used by family members; the second volume examines mainly the communication concepts between family members in a broadened area; the third volume mainly examines the social language outside the home in the villages and rural areas, the fourth volume deals mainly with the language in the city. The difficulty of vocabulary, grammar and sentence patterns does increase from volume to volume.
After completing Volume 2 you will be able to communicate on a basic level in everyday life, speak everyday things, read about 800 words (and type on a mobile phone) and write about 270 words.

《美好》系列教材共4册：第1册主要学习家庭内部成员间用语；第2册主要学习更大范围家庭成员间交往用语；第3册主要学习庭院外、村镇内社交用语；第4册主要学习村镇外、城市里用语。词汇、语法、句型的难度逐册上升。
本册共10个单元，每个单元是一个大的话题。每个单元下有5课，每课是一个小话题，学习1课时。按一周3课时的进度，本册可学习约半年。学完第2册可基本进行日常生活交流，会用国家通用语说出常用事物，表达基本感受，可认读约800个字（会用手机打字），会写约270个字。
