This is the revised edition of Meeting China. Intermediate Spoken Chinese is suitable for advanced beginners with previous knowledge who have worked on the previous volumes Basic and Elementary Spoken Chinese or who, alternatively, have already mastered a vocabulary of about 400-600 Chinese words or who have already been taught Chinese for 80-120 hours. The term Intermediate contained in the title is perhaps a bit misleading in this context, since in our classification of intermediate we ​​usually assume 2000 mastered words. For this volume, however, a prior knowledge of approx. 400-600 words is assumed and after working through the volume approx. 1000 words will be known, including the mastered and newly learned words.

This is a 12-lesson, limited annotation conversation course in English. In this progression stage, Hanyu Pinyin only appears with the introduction of the vocabulary. The exercises are also no longer accompanied by Hanyu Pinyin.
