This is the revised edition of Meeting China. Intermediate Comprehensive Chinese is suitable for advanced beginners with previous knowledge who have worked through the previous volumes Basic and Elementary Comprehensive Chinese or who, alternatively, have already mastered a vocabulary of approx. 400-600 Chinese words or who have already been taught Chinese for 80-120 class hours.

The term Intermediate perhaps is a bit misleading in this context, since in our classification of intermediate we usually assume to have mastered 2000 Chinese words. For this volume, however, a previous knowledge of approx. 400-600 words is assumed and after working through the volume approx. 1000 words will be known, including the mastered and newly learned words.

This is a general language course with 12 lessons and limited annotations in English. In this progression stage, Hanyu Pinyin only appears with the introduction of the vocabulary. The exercises are also no longer accompanied by Hanyu Pinyin.
