This is the revised edition of Meeting China. Elementary Spoken Chinese is suitable for beginners with little previous knowledge who have worked on the previous volume "Basic Spoken Chinese" or who alternatively already are mastering  200-300 Chinese words or who have already completed 40-60 lesson hours of Chinese with a conversational course.

This book consists of 12 lessons, annotated in English. All the lesson texts in this volume are accompanied by Hanyu Pinyin. However, at this stage of progression, Hanyu Pinyin no longer appears parallel to the lesson texts, but rather separately behind them. The exercises are also no longer accompanied by Hanyu Pinyin.

The Meeting China series consists of the conversational courses Spoken Chinese and the general courses Comprehensive Chinese, each with four volumes. The volumes of each level complement each other, but can also be used independently.
