Chinese Character Writing Manual - Advanced from the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education series.

This is a practical Chinese character learning, writing and practicing book for Chinese learners with preknowledge who already master about 700 Chinese characters (or who already did study the Chinese Character Writing Manual - Elementary and Intermediate volumes).

This Chinese Character Writing Guide consists of 25 chapters. Each chapter teaches 20 new characters, so together there are 500 Chinese characters for learners with preknowledge of about 700 Chinese characters in this advanced volume. There is a test at the end of each unit to assess proficiency in Chinese characters in that unit. (Note: the answers to the tests are not given, but it is about checking the pinyin transcription of Chinese characters and vice versa, Chinese characters are given to which the Hanyu Pinyin transcription is to be added. Thus, the learners can look up the answers for themselves in the chapter).

To help learners learn, understand, and use Chinese characters better, the Chinese characters in the main part of this manual are arranged in ascending order of stroke count and writing difficulty. The Chinese characters, the Hanyu Pinyin transliteration, the English translation, an example word (which contains the Chinese character), the stroke order, and boxes for copying and writing the character are given. Many characters also come with a QR code that allows learners to see an animated demonstration, making Chinese character writing more fun and direct.

In addition to the Chinese Character Writing section, the manual also provides an alphabetical index of Chinese characters (in both simplified and traditional Chinese characters) and grid sheets for practice.

Although the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education series is actually a reference series for Chinese teachers, schools and textbook development, this Chinese character writing manual sub-series is also suitable for self-study by Chinese learners. This volume for the advanced level is not only suitable as reference material for teachers and institutions, but also for discovering and practicing the Chinese characters for Chinese learners already mastering about 700 Chinese characters.

《汉字书写手册》依据教育部和国家语委联合发布的《国际中文教育中文水平等级标准》的“手写汉字表”进行编写，是面向中文学习者的实用型汉字学习、书写、练习用书。《汉字书写手册》遵循《标准》“汉字认读与手写适度分离、手写汉字从少到多有序推进”的新路向，着意提升学习者的汉字书写能力，提高其汉字学习效率，让汉字学习更具针对性。

《汉字书写手册》分初等、中等、高等三册，分别收录《标准》初等手写汉字300字、中等手写汉字400字、高等手写汉字500字，共1200个手写汉字。各册内部以20个汉字为一单元，学习者可每天完成一单元汉字的学练；每单元后都有测试，以检验学习者对本单元汉字的掌握情况。为了便于学习者更好地学习、理解、使用汉字，《汉字书写手册》依据笔画数编排汉字，遵循汉字笔画数由少到多、书写由易到难的顺序;围绕“读音”“英文释义”“所属等级”“同等级例词”“笔顺及笔画”“其他读音”等方面对汉字进行说明，同时给出田字格让学习者摹写汉字，以达到“识”“写”“记”同步的效果。
