Special Chinese - Technology

This is a tutorial material of physics for international students studying science and engineering in China, covering such aspects as force, electricity and optics. While conforming to the pre-university curriculum, it also to a certain extent expands and extends to high school and college knowledge to help enhance students’ understanding of key points. Most texts are Simplified Chinese with Hanyu Pinyin. With some English annotations.

An Elementary Course in Scientific Chinese - Listening and Speaking - Vol. 1  includes 30 lessons (lessons 1-30). It focuses on the common phrases, grammar structures, common functional items and their expressions in the areas of science and technology. It requires approxiamtely 120 class hours to complete.

An Elementary Course in Scientific Chinese - Listening and Speaking - Vol. 2  includes 30 lessons (lessons 31-60). It focuses on the common phrases, grammar structures, common functional items and their expressions in the areas of science and technology. It requires approxiamtely 120 class hours to complete.

An Elementary Course in Scientific Chinese - Listening Comprehension [+MP3-CD] includes 60 lessons in total.

In this course, the reading exercises are focused on and supplemented by the writing ones. The main purposes are as follows: to develop international students’ basic Chinese knowledge and skills necessary for their study in the field of mathematics, physics, chemistry or compute; to improve their reading and writing abilities in Chinese for science and technology; to remove their language barrier in the above-mentioned academic fields and provide the language support necessary for the intensive study of their majors.

This book is suitable for those who have learned basic Chinese in full-time schools for one term or more, and master 600-800 characters and 1000 ordinary words. It is based on scientific and engineering common courses, so both scientific and engineering students can benefit from it.
